To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in support of Aletha McArthur’s efforts to develop a specialized school to serve the most under-served children, those having experienced early life neglect and trauma. Such children require an environment with professionals trained to meet their needs in a moment-to-moment, ongoing way. New Growth Family Centre, under the guidance of Aletha McArthur is just such an opportunity. Ms. McArthur was recently accepted into my Post Institute Advanced Therapist Trauma Certification training. She has utilized Post Institute materials in her private practice for the last three years, as well as the Beyond Consequences Institute materials that were developed out of the Post Institute. She is increasingly passionate and intentional in directing her focus in training mental health providers, teachers, foster and adoptive parents, caseworkers, and legal representatives on how to more effectively parent, teach, relate with, and guide the under-served and high-risk youth in our culture.
Ms. McArthur’s intentions to develop an educational program for high risk children stems from over thirty years of educational experience in a variety of treatment settings. She intends to be increasingly involved with the Post Institute in developing materials that will translate academic information and research into understandable, usable, inspirational and effective materials for parents, teachers, and caseworkers.
I will be closely involved with Ms. McArthur as she develops her educational and training opportunities. I will likely join her in developing a seminar and speaking together in the future. We are also intending to write a book together in the near future relating to educating challenging children.
It is my hope and pleasure to assist Ms. McArthur in helping get vital information into the hearts, hands and minds of the people involved with children who need the information and right guidance the most.
Professionally Yours,
